Hydrangeas
Whether you want a lacecap, mophead, oakleaf, paniculata or climbing type, Hydrangeas are a wonderful garden shrub, which thrive in moist well drained soil, in full or partial sun. With delicate heads of flowers from late spring to late autumn, in shades of white, pink, or blue, Hydrangeas are well known for their ability to change colour in different soils. Those with white and green flowers will not be affected by soil pH. Blue or pink flowers indicate acid, mauve indicates acid to neutral, and pink alkaline conditions. In late summer another delight awaits as the flower colour changes with age, blue and pink flowers become mixtures of green/pink/red, white flowers turn pink.
